DLC-SPY allows for verification of signal using the power line carrier or District line carrier, which is the same line that carries electricity. DLC or better known PLC communication technology operates via P2LPC Data Concentrators, where the multi meter data is collected and forwarded to the Central Data Processing server, normally via a GSM/GPRS signal.

The DLC Spy is a measurement unit, enabling the user to measure the quality of the signal form each meter to the concentrator.

It is typically found that a separate power cable can provide data without noise, but multi power cable environments may result in missing or noisy data. In such circumstances a DLC-Spy is required to guarantee minimum data disruption.
